Antique Road Show
So, there is this thing, that you do to your “friends” as a prank, when you are young and dumb and typically in college, called antiquing. Basically, when your friend is passed out drunk, you take a bag of flour, and for lack of a better way of expalining it, throw it in their face. Hilarious right? Cause they are all covered in flour, which makes them look old and…antique?
One of the patients we responded to during my EMS field time was for an unconscious patient who was not responsive. So we arrive on the scene and this middle aged lady is essential down and out in the middle of the living room. But, she is covered from head to waste in white, granular sugar. What the hell right? Apparently, the youngsters in the house knew she needed sugar, but had no idea how to get it into her. So essentially, they antiqued her with a bag of sugar. One person held open her mouth, the other heaved an open bag of sugar towards her face. Their thought being, that with some speed behind it, some was bound to get down her throat and into her stomach. A+ for effort.
